Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital

San Francisco, California | 2020
Medical Facility | Architecture & Signage Photography

San Francisco General Hospital had begun the development of numerous infrastructure and quality of life improvements across their campus, their first step was partnering with design and architecture agencies to facilitate the development.
Partnering with San Leandro-based environmental graphic design firm, Shannon Leigh Associates, photographs were taken to document key locations across the campus that would later feature directional signage to help patients quickly find their way across the hospital.

Process

  1. Identification
Site-wide walkthroughs with design staff were conducted to identify key locations and portals that patients would pass through. Those locations would later have signage installed to guide patients across the property.

  2. Documentation
360 photos using Matterport and standard DSLR photos were taken of the different locations across the property. The idea was to have adequate space for signage to be rendered onto the images while showing the context of the space, including people as well.

  3. Processing
Light and color adjustments were made via Lightroom in addition to the removal of faces and other identifying articles.
